Rev. Marvin Jones, Sr is the son of Eva M. (Grayson) Jones and the late Dozier Jones and was born in Vineland, NJ. Rev. Jones received his education in the Vineland Public School System and is a graduate of Vineland Senior High.

Rev. Jones joined the St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Charles Harvey, Sr. On October 2, 1979, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

Rev. Jones attended United Wesleyan Bible College, Allentown, PA. He was inspired by God to preach and in December 1982, he accepted the calling and was licensed to preach by the St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church. On June 30, 1987, Rev. Jones was ordained by the Bethany Baptist Association of Southern New Jersey.

On June 6, 1987 he married the former Michele L. R. Elie. They are blessed with two daughters - Christian M. & Camille M.; and one son, Marvin C. D. Jones, II.

In June 2018, Rev. Jones was selected as the Pastor of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Roxboro, NC. Under his leadership, the CGMBC congregation and church ministries have grown not only in size but spiritually as well. With over 25 years of preaching experience, Pastor Jones continues to minister God's Word under the anointing with simplicity and understanding.

Rev. Jones' favorite scripture is Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
